Declan Alcock is a Chartered Engineer with 18years experience in Sustainability, Building Physics and Energy & Environmental analysis. Declan’s qualifications include MSc Energy & Sustainable Building Design. He is also a Director of the Irish Green Building Council and Project Director at Varming Consulting Engineers.

Engineering is directly applicable to many of the UN Sustainable Development Goals including the provision of Clean Water and Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Energy, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Resilient Infrastructure and Climate Action.

Declan Alcock & Liam McCarton will discuss the work of Engineers Without Borders in Post-Earthquake Nepal, Uganda and Kenya among other places and the application of appropriate technology to empower local communities.
